Queen’s University – Goodes Hall Classrooms Renovations | Educational 1 2 3 description
This project involves renovation of four sixty seat classrooms and upgrades to the audio visual systems, acoustic environment and finishes for each classroom. The scope of services required coordination with Queen’s audio visual consultant and included the architectural, mechanical and electrical infrastructure for the new equipment. Since Goodes Hall is listed on the City of Kingston Heritage register, care was taken in retaining part of the existing tin ceiling perimeter surrounding the new drop ceiling as a link to the building’s historic past. Similarly, new finishes to the seating and desk areas were carefully chosen to be compatible with the existing finishes. The design also included reconfiguration of the main lectern and lighting controls.
