The Renaissance Apartments is an infill development responding to adjacent land uses through height, setbacks, reduced surface parking and creation of an urban street edge along Bloor Street West.
The 9-storey residential building acts as a gateway into Toronto from the west. Landscaping, trees, and benches around the site contribute to the existing park setting, providing leisure spaces for residents and community members. A playground and off-leash dog park also enhances the greenspace and public realm at the corner of Bloor and Markland.
On Sunplains Crescent and Broadfield Drive, the proposed low–rise apartment buildings provide a threshold into the existing residential neighborhood to the southeast of the site and beyond.
